Have you noticed the beautiful street art along Edsa? Apparently they absorb smog too, that’s why they still look good. I’m surprised that this project has not gained that much media attention.

The first Paru-Paro Festival in celebration of the 2nd Cityhood Anniversary of Dasmariñas City, Cavite last November 26, 2011.

Different schools and organizations dressed in their butterfly outfit participated in the parade to celebrate the big event in the city.

“After a year-long investigation by PETA Asia-Pacific and the National Bureau of Investigations, police have now charged a Philippine couple with cruelty to animals and other crimes related to producing a series of pornographic videos in which young girls torture and kill animals.

The “crush” videos that the Ridons are believed to have produced show scantily clad 12-year-old girls as they stomp on live animals, a rabbit as he or she is skinned alive, other rabbits as they scream while their ears are cut off and they are set on fire, a dog as he or she is burned with a clothes iron, and a monkey who was repeatedly hit in the eye with the sharp end of a stiletto heel. There is more, including puppies crushed until they vomited their own internal organs. A bill currently in the Philippine Senate would criminalize the sale of such “crush videos,” already illegal in the U.S. and other countries.
Faced with the charges, suspects Dorma and Vic Ridon have fled. Warrants have been issued for them.”

See this dog?
Her name is Hope. Hope was tied up around the neck with electrical wire by 19-year-old Dionte Davis and left to die in the woods. Her trachea was severed, as you can see above, from her struggle. She survived a little while after being rescued, but sadly did not make it. She was, however, alive when the above picture was taken. Nearly decapitated, but still alive.
Can you imagine the pain she felt? Yet even after that, she was still trusting of people. Still friendly, still loving, to her dying day. Such a sweet dog, who, thanks to the cruel actions of a twisted man, met an untimely and inhumane death. What did Hope do to deserve this?
There’s a petition here to give Davis the maximum sentence, along with many others around the web. Please at least look at the page, and reblog to get the word around. Abuse like this deserves the full punishment.
